Helen Kane boop-a-doop singer, was ordered by a federal judge today to return to the Irving Trust Company as trustee $40,000 paid to her three years ago by the Bond Dress Company shortly before it went into bank-ruptey. She was also ordered to pay the trustee $6,400 interest. In directing payment of the money to the trustee by Miss Kane. Judge Francis Caffney said he did not believe and the singer's testimony that she did not know the company was insolvent when she receive the money. He said he did believe however that she was probably unaware of the company's insolvency when she received a slightly earlier payment of $10,000. For this reason he exempted her from returning that. The trustee had sued for return of the whole $50,000, plus interest.
